National Suicide Prevention Week 2025

In 2024:

555 lives were lost to suicide in the state of Iowa.

This year on September 7th,

Our goal is to have 555 walkers

sharing space for each life lost last year.

Will you walk with us? #555

When: Sunday, September 7th, 2025

Where: University of Dubuque Track & Field at the Outdoor Sports Complex

Time: Doors open at 6:00PM

Walk begins at 7:00PM

 

 

Participation:

$25 Walk Fee (t-shirt included, general sizes available the day of the event) 

Children under the age of 16 walk free.

-Online registration will close online Friday, September 5th at 10:00PM.

-We have a limited number of scholarship walk tickets available.

These tickets are offered at no cost and made possible

by generous supporters of NAMI Dubuque.

-Walk-ins are welcome on Sunday, September 7th

although we cannot guarantee shirt availability.

-Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

-The UD Track & Field prohibits animals on its surface.

*there is processing fee associated with online ordering*

 

How it works:

Join us for a mile around the University of Dubuque Track & Field

in support of NAMI Dubuque and National Suicide Prevention Week.

We welcome large groups, small groups, families, peers,

our community, organizations, and individual walkers.

We will have resources available.

Please note: Our event is a non-competitive walk.

-If you are unable to attend but would still like to support and donate,

please find the "donation" button on the registration page.

​Additional FAQ:

1. Rain location will be held inside at the indoor track and field at UD.

2. Restrooms are located inside the building at the indoor track and field.

3. We encourage everyone to bring a water bottle and drink! (Alcohol and drug use are prohibited at this event).

4. Walk parking is available in the lot at the University of Dubuque Track and Field on campus.

Animals are prohibited on the Track & Field.
